The Visionary Art of Gil Bruvel

www.lahainagalleries.com

Gil Bruvel was born in Sydney, Australia, in 1959. His parents moved the family back to the south of France when he was age 4. He began drawing lessons at age 9, then oil painting at age 12. In 1974 he started 3 years of studies at an art restoration workshop. He lived and worked in France until moving to the United States in 1990, spent 12 years on the island of Maui, Hawaii and currently lives in the Hill Country of Texas. In 1992 he started to experiment with sculptures in bronze, stainless steel, mixed media and digital modeling and continues to learn about creative processes in artistic expression. He is currently creating functional art, sculptures, and paintings. Gil Bruvel has been exhibiting his work since 1974 in various places around the world and his collectors span the globe. He has received numerous awards including those from museum exhibitions as well as nationally and internationally juried competitions.
